Folio 100, staggering start

A few months ago, Steve Jobs told that 7″ screen is ambiguous for tablet PCs. But 10″ screen would be more difficult to beat down the juggernaut, Apple’s iPad.

Toshiba’s tablet computer, the Folio 100, has been withdrawn from Dixons stores in the UK because of a high return rate. It has a powerful functions such as high resolution(1020*600, 10.1″), Blutooth, WiFi and 1.3 mega pixel camera. But this device, initially on sale for £329, is increasing the price to £999.

High price deters people from buying the Folio 100. And though this device embeds Android 2.2, It doesn’t feature the Android Market. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab with 7” screen, on the other hand, gets good responses from users because of its customized UI.
