When I was a university student, I was interested in environment. Exactly I majored environmental engineering and especially focused on water treatment. But at that time i felt that this area would not be the sustainable business. It’s used for the public and economically spending a lot of money. It means this area needs only expenses. There is no profit from an investment. That’s the reason why the development is so slow in this area though it needs more disruptive technologies than any other industries.
Now we call this area Bio-connected area or Eco industry. We see this area at a different viewpoint. Here comes new era of envrionment. Almost people know the importance of green solultion and it has bigger meaning of protectionism for the Earth. It makes new possibilty of business which we haven’t expected. Substitutes of fossil fuel are easy example. Furthermore it changes the rule of managing companies.
CDM(Clean Development Mechanism) would be profitable business opportunity. Originally it’s made by the concept for reducing greenhouse gas like carbon hydrates under Kyoto protocol. But it brings new market like commodity. Because this system includes the trade of greenhouse gas between countries, it needs new rule for trade and other business chances for reducing greenhouse gases.
High efficient electrics or green building which systemically controls energy usages are representative cases. From consulting including SI(System Integration) to trading greenhouse gases, we should scrutinize this area for finding dynamics of next growth.
