Google’s real google phone is launched today. In twitter many people leave messages including expectation and experiences around this brand new phone. Exactly speaking, the one who makes device is not Google but HTC. But
Google directed all thing about internal platform and service
structure. So from a point of view that Google finally crosses the threshold of mobile device industry, opinions over the phone makes new debates and issues.
Most of all ‘Nexus One’ has realized the web-based service such as Facebook, Twitter, Google services, etc. But it doesn’t support multi-touch and even Android widgets seem to be weaker than Apple’s ‘App store’.
And one more charateristic of ‘Nexus One’ is distribution channel. Google are providing ‘Nexus One’ through carriers(telecommunication companies). At the same time they are delivering phones by their own direct channel. Those trials which are recently activated by tides of smartphone would make carriers’ influence weak and the speed of openness beyond a certain carrier fast.
I’m so wondering the appearance of web-friendly phone could be a turning point to accelerate the distribution of mobile web.
