If mobile cards spread out and coupons are provided by mobile internet, what will happen?
Maybe it needs new media that can organically contains those applications. i.e. virtual wallet(mobile wallet).
Most of us use wallets. And it’s the common thing that people carry important photos in their wallets as well as money and credit cards. A wallet is not only a simple container of payment methods but also an emotional private area. It means that a wallet basically includes private information – a concise of personal DB. In the case of internet, e-mail service is the starter of expanding web services. A virtual wallet will be the next key function of mobile internet. NFC protocol is being accepted as de facto standard and smartphones are spreading out world-wide. As the container of payment applications, a virtual wallet will be more necessary. Furthermore, a virtual wallet will be the powerful channel between customers and other services such as commerce, contents, etc.
The wallet may be the main channel for product advertisement based on the analysis of customer’s various life-log. And if all commerce-related activities such as coupons, membership are provided in mobile services, it will make a new business chance that commercial points and mileges are integrated into enterprise currency.
Anyway, there is a long way for a virtual wallet service.
