Q store, a next mobile commerce service

Have you ever heard about Q store?
It’s a new commerce service in Korea using sensing technology such as QR code and NFC technology.
SK Telecom launched this service on 22th, February. This pilot store is set up in SK Telecom, HQ.

The process to buy a product is very simple. If you are interested on something, you just read the QR code or NFC tag with your mobile phone. It gives you the detailed information about the item and the guide line on how to purchase it.

I really wonder how this type of service intrigues people’s interests and open their wallets. It’s a very innovative attempt to test the market and customer. According to the project manager, their goal is not launching a new type of service but rather in finding a new way of commerce based on a cutting-edge technology. NFC may become a battlefield as well as an opportunity for a new business. As attention for it gets hotter, the most important thing is knowing what the core is, and obtaining it.

I think this platform gives us a hint on what will be the next NFC applied service and new commerce businesses.
